Midnight On The Fourth Day
Midnight on the Fourth Day
Have you been on a northern lake when the moon is full?
The red glow of the campfire pulses as GOD exhales
and leaves rustle while the mirror surface of the water sparkles
and a billion diamonds point the way
to the lesser light of the fourth day
clouds scuttle across the sky
while rolling shadows float over the landscape
like waves on the ocean.
The air is alive with the call of the loon declaring “My space, stay away.”
